5f15a0d4-c208-408c-93bc-c3f93f465fe9

Her teaching method pays particular attention to the cultures from which this art, as we know it today, originated.

Strongly influenced by Persian Ballet, Qajar-style classical Persian dance, and contemporary dance with the Laban and Duncan methods.
She continues to update her training mainly with Zoe Jakes, Kami Liddle, and Miriam Peretz.
MIDAS graduate, she is certified in Diamonds, Spades, and Clubs of Zoe Jakes' ®Dancecraft and Invocation  and  Conception ®Krysalis, Tallulah is also a Pilates Contrology instructor.

TEACHING METHOD

Tallulah uses various tools derived from her diverse experience; her lessons are based on building bodily-kinesthetic intelligence in her students through the progressive understanding of the space around them and their own bodies. To do this, she primarily uses the Laban method and concepts of biomechanics.

Her courses include dance history seminars to pay particular attention and respect to the cultures from which this dance takes shape.

She encourages her students to be consistent and patient with themselves, as these are the keys to growth and progress, and she fosters collaboration and respect among students in her classes.

APPROACH TO DANCE

Dance is an art.

It is part of culture: new cultures are always born from multicultural contaminations, so much so that dance is here and in the present.

Tallulah feels dance in correlation with poetry and not with prose. Within the varied language she uses, she prefers aerial and liquid movements.

Tallulah's Fusion Bellydance style, with its imagery, easily evokes aquatic and woodland mythological figures that are enclosed in our ancestral memory; the movements are performed through metaphors: a simple walk draws strength from the fantasy of a deer moving on an undergrowth of silk.

The arms become lithium in suspension, maintaining intensity as they flow in discursive phrases. The concrete body is not dispersed in the liquid but bends, leaving imprints in the surrounding atmosphere. It is an instrument that is part of the music and takes measure in the literal time of the music and in the expressive expansion of creation.

Poet

I had the opportunity and privilege to study with Tallulah and to participate in her Wander in Wonder project in 2018: from her I learned that dance can be a complex and wonderful interweaving of emotions and that, if freed from pre-established patterns, it is able to amaze you and take you to magical places. Tallulah, as a teacher, was able to grasp my earthy and fluid nature (born from my previous experience in studying contemporary dance) and managed to strengthen my identity as a dancer. Today, thanks also to her, I have found my path, both as a professional and as part of a community, and I am very happy that she agreed to collaborate with my company Haraka Project, confirming her professionalism and teaching me that exchange and listening in dance are magical ingredients for never stopping learning, improving, and expressing oneself.

Tallulah Dawn and the power of the danced gesture.

The splendid artist you can admire in the photos is a woman who embodies a poetic and delicate presence as much as an earthy and powerful one, the feminine I love: a sensuality never exaggerated combined with the sacred strength of the intimate essence of Woman. The goddesses Venus and Diana, beauty and determination, welcoming and protection. Dance thus becomes, in the expression given by Tribal Fusion Belly Dance and which Tallulah Dawn magnificently interprets, a language through which the original essence of the human being can express its unique and dynamic life.
Dancing oneself is to give one's soul a sacred space of presence and, at the same time, to restore the value of authenticity to a world that needs to perceive its healing power in order to believe in the possibility of becoming free.
Thanks to Tallulah Dawn for the generosity with which she dedicates herself to teaching, as well as to her wonderful performances.

This is the third year I have chosen Tallulah. This year, after a break from movement, I realized even more how much I missed it and how much my body benefits from it. I find her extremely well-prepared and attentive to everyone's needs. I like the personalization of the lessons and the explanation of the movements, and I find the cultural context she loves to provide for the styles we cover very useful. One of my fondest memories: dancing with her during my pregnancy!

I attended the Persian Waves workshop with Tallulah and I was very impressed by her technical precision and her stylistic sensitivity and originality. The lesson was extremely interesting and full of content and I loved dancing her sequences. Even though I am a beginner in tribal fusion, I had a lot of fun even though I encountered some technical difficulties at certain points. Thanks to her clarity in explaining, however, the difficulties I encountered did not feel like limitations, but rather starting points to continue studying and improving myself.

My teacher knows how to find the right balance between sensitivity, friendliness, and professionalism. Her style is unique; she manages to create choreographies that are sequences of poses and not just simple dance steps. She is very dedicated to her students, manages to motivate us by encouraging us, and is always very patient. Her lessons are never boring or predictable; on the contrary, every time is a discovery and you can't wait to attend the next one! I want to thank Tallulah for the person she is and for her professional yet lighthearted approach! Thank you!

My experience with Tallulah over the years has been very positive. I have received warmth, attention, listening, and support during difficult times, both in class and in performance. Tallulah is a passionate teacher, well-prepared and attentive to the needs and problems of each student; she respects individual learning paces but at the same time encourages improvement by always proposing new and interesting challenges. Her extensive knowledge of various contemporary and traditional dances (for example, Persian dance) makes her choreographies unique, rich, and distinctive, a pleasure to dance.
