What is Pilates?

Contrology is a method invented by Joseph Pilates, from whom it takes its name.

It is an exercise program that focuses on the postural muscles, that is, those muscles that help keep the body balanced and are essential for providing support to the spine. The method is particularly suitable for dancers. In particular, Pilates exercises help develop awareness of breathing and spinal alignment by strengthening the deep trunk muscles, which are very important for helping to relieve and prevent back pain and joint pain.
